As per a report, Australia has strongly contested the widespread media reports that the DIBP (Department of Immigration and Border Protection) has removed accounting from its list of skilled occupations for 2015.Global accounting students were quite shocked to learn about wrong reports that the specific line-of-work had been deleted from the immigration skilled professions list, dreading they would be denied migrating and job opportunities in Down Under once they had made the cut and been accepted.
But, a concerned spokesperson has reportedly stated that the involved body will not advocate any changes to the skilled occupations list composition until the first few months of the coming year, i.e., 2015.Reportedly, the concerned Australian senator will take a final decision on the list, post she gets that recommendation.
Some top accounting bodies have been rather eager to maintain accounting on the professions list.Allegedly, any pronouncement to remove accounting would severely affect global student numbers, even as such students were a big part of the various accounting courses.
It is also claimed that even as some international students chose to study in Oz so they could take their skills back home, several did it to ultimately migrate to Down Under and discover employment opportunities there in. And, while the top accounting groups had argued the nation had a serious dearth of qualified accountants many students had been claiming that they were finding it very difficult to get jobs in the nation.
Meanwhile, some leading concerned organizations have urged amendments to the Australian skilled migration scheme maintaining the same is inflexible, hardly focused even while it only just enables assurance for business.
