The Real Problems on Immigration in Top Most Countries

Immigration is one intrinsic aspect of a nation’s economic policy. It is broadly considered a relocation process wherein immigrants move from one country to another. Rarely do they realize the economic and demographic propensity of this movement. Conceptually, it creates a stir into the country’s culture, work practices, per capita productivity and the basic fabric. It is therefore imperative for any country to have a tab on its immigration policy and regulate it as per the domestic signals. Countries such as UK, US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia have seen the evolution of their policies into a more robust arrangement of importing skills. The policy responds well to the economic criteria and also the demographic composition.
From an immigrant’s perspective these salient features of the policy are not easy to comprehend. The problems on immigration make this a very painful task. The applicants tend to see more of rejection than approval. This discussion takes note of all such ‘bottlenecks’ that go on to complicate an otherwise easy process.
1.     Documentation
One must understand the significance of paperwork. The rising concerns on security and national safety have forced the countries to raise the bar on identification and security checks. Every application must be sufficed with papers on nationality, identity, education, residence, work experience, travel, health, finance and so on. One cannot afford to under estimate the importance of even a passport photograph. A little here and there on its dimensions might see a rejection of the application. Documentation is therefore a very typical task and must be performed with utmost care.
2.     Skills Evaluation
As discussed before, the immigration policies are made keeping in mind the economy of the country. Every immigrant is therefore given a thorough check on his or her ‘viability’ towards economic contribution.  Skills are therefore an important criterion. Australia would allow work visas only once the applicants surmount the selective filtration on Skillselect. Similarly, Canada would approve a work visa only once you attain a score of 100 points. One must therefore get a skills evaluation prior to making an application. The assessment is made on education, work experience, language skills, professional conduct and adaptability. Post evaluation, the work visas are issued to only those who have the most potential to excel in their respective areas.
3.     Nominated Occupation
Not many would realize the importance of the nominated occupation. An application without a nominated occupation is like shooting the arrow without an aim.  The immigrants need to make sure that the occupation list mentions the specified job. Australia enlists all the jobs on the NOC ‘National Occupational Classification’ which also complies with the ANZSCO classification.

4.     Official Language
The attempt on immigration would be successful only when the immigrant is able to communicate effectively. Competency with the official language is therefore a prerequisite on immigration. Countries like Canada would demand a CLB ‘Canadian Language Benchmark’ with a score of 6 and Australia would demand an IELTS certificate ‘International English Language Test Score’ to authenticate the competency. The work visa would be issued only once you have a positive score on the official language.
5.     Work Visa
Every immigrant has to supposedly select a work visa and then make an application. Different countries have different visas but they are broadly classified as skilled visas, tourist visas, business temporary / permanent visas, citizenship, permanent residency and so on. What makes it worth discussion is that every visa has its specific requirements. The papers, route on immigration and the procedures are all dependent on the type of visa and must be complied well. Having a generic ‘fit to all’ approach would only lead to rejection.
6.     Immigration agencies
One of the most prominent problems on immigration is about choosing an immigration agency. The multiplicity of factors on immigration makes it very obvious to select the most experienced, resourceful and authorized agency. One needs to also make sure that the immigration advice is based on the most current information and from a valid source. A detailed research is therefore a must while you select your consultant.
